Ekstrom pledges to make life tough
Not surprisingly, immediately after the qualifying session for tomorrow’s DTM finale at Hockenheim, pole-sitter Mattias Ekstrom promised to make life difficult for Paul by racing him harder than he would his own fellow Audi driver and championship leader, Timo Scheider. Paul, in turn, hopes Audi’s team tactics don’t go too far.

Fastest in Friday free-practice
Paul struck the first psychological blow ahead of Sunday’s DTM shoot-out at Hockenheim when he posted the fastest time in today’s free practice with his final lap of the day.
F1 test completed; now for DTM finale
Paul completed his second two-day test with the McLaren Formula One team at Silverstone and was pleased to build on the experience and pace he generated in the initial test a fortnight ago.

Paul heads to the final race of the DTM season at Hockenheim in three weeks just two points off the lead after scoring a dramatic second place in the rain-affected penultimate round in France.

Paul will start from fourth on the grid of the 2.5-mile Bugatti circuit at Le Mans for the penultimate round of DTM tomorrow bidding to record back-to-back victories and boost his hopes of lifting the championship for the first time.
